College football teams, schedule: predictions against difference, odds of today’s top 25 games in week 4

[ad_1]

With a lot of upheavals and surprises as we feel like we’re entering week 4 of the 2021 college football season, who knows what Saturday is. Three weeks in a row of unpredictable finishes and the first 25 disorders have set the stage for what should be an exciting three quarters of the season remaining. This action continues on Saturday with several top-tier clashes across the country.

While there are only two games between opponents ranked on Saturday, both have the potential to be starters. Coincidentally, both games will be held in neutral venues with four huge programs going into NFL stadiums in the afternoon. No. 12 in Notre Dame and No. 18 in Wisconsin will open the day’s meeting at Soldier Field in Chicago, while No. 7 at Texas A&M and No. 16 at Arkansas will qualify at D&A Stadium in Dallas.

Overall, 22 of the AP’s Top 25 ranked teams will be in action throughout the day with outstanding nightly games, including Tennessee visiting No. 11 in Florida and West Virginia making a trip to No. 4 in Oklahoma. To control actions, see our Viewfinder Guide and prepare the remote control.

While winning is important to qualifying, we are concerned about whether these teams will cover their spreads. Be sure to follow up with CBS Sports throughout the day to cover college football from Saturday’s early start to the final whistle. Let’s take a look at our expert selections for the full fourth Saturday of the season.

Odds via Caesars Sportsbook | All Eastern hours

12 of Notre Dame vs. 18 of Wisconsin

Last odds:

Wisconsin badgers -6.5

Noon | Fox, fuboTV (Free trial) – Not only do I think Notre Dame covers Saturday’s broadcast, but I’ll pick it up to win the game directly. While Notre Dame’s offense has been in trouble lately, there is enough talent in the skill positions to rely on his resilience. Right now I don’t have nearly the same level of faith in the Wisconsin crime. We all watched as the badgers struggled to move the ball against Penn State in their first game of the season, and Notre Dame’s defense is just as strong. The Wisconsin defense will keep the badgers in the game, but unless it forces several changes and possibly a score, I don’t see Wisconsin’s offense scoring enough to win the game. Prediction: Notre Dame (+5.5) – Tom Fornelli

No. 7 Texas A&M Vs. No. 16 Arkansas

Last odds:

Texas A&M Aggies -5

3:30 pm | CBS, CBSSports.com, CBS Sports App I’ll take the Aggies to a good trendy slug festival. They will be able to slow down the Arkansas running game enough to force KJ Jefferson into awkward passing situations and some major mistakes will drastically alter the outcome. Zach Calzada will continue his development as a passer, especially offside, and will lead this Texas A&M team to a hard-fought victory at Jerry World covering the line. Prediction: Texas A&M (-5.5) – Barrett Sallee

9 Clemson and NC State

Last odds:

Clemson Tigers -10

3:30 pm | ESPN, fuboTV (Free trial) – Carter-Finley Stadium can be a big advantage on the home field for the Wolfpack, and I think fans will have an impact on another edition of this series that will be undecided in the fourth quarter. Clemson’s defense will keep a low score and low-scoring games will favor the little ones. Prediction: NC State (+10) – Chip Patterson

Tennessee, at number 11 in Florida

Last odds:

Florida Gators -19

19:00 | ESPN, fuboTV (Free trial) – Yes, it was against Tennessee Tech, but the volunteers found something in defense that seemed fundamentally solid for the first time. This bodes well for a Florida attack that will likely use more zone reading features on offense. Expect both teams to struggle to get on and off the field. Florida will win, control the game and their defense will shine again … but Tennessee will be successful enough to cover all 20 points. Prediction: Tennessee (+20) – Barrett Sallee

West Virginia at No. 4 in Oklahoma

Last odds:

Oklahoma Sooners -17

19:30 | ABC, fuboTV (Free trial) – Oklahoma has played with its FBS opponents at one point, and West Virginia is probably the best opponent on the calendar so far. Of course, the Sooners have a chance to turn on the running game and take any team away from the Big 12. However, we are unlikely to see that dimension against this West Virginia team. For this reason, expect the score to be closer than it should be again. Prediction: West Virginia (+16.5) – Shehan Jeyarajah
