This USGS map, published around 2:00 pm, shows where there was significant seismic activity on Thursday.

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK (KIFI / KIDK): in the midst of the earthquake activity in California and the volcanic activity in Hawaii, the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory (USGS) reports on the activity of earthquakes in Yellowstone at background levels.

The Steamboat geyser broke records, with seven water eruptions during June. No significant changes were made to GPS stations in surface deformation in the Yellowstone area.

A European gossip magazine has been promoting reports recently demanding an impending volcanic activity in Yellowstone. Their claims are based mainly on the recent Steamboat Geyser activity. However, USGS officials have been equally aggressive at the time of counteracting these claims as completely false.

On Thursday, no significant events were recorded in the Yellowstone area.
