In the afternoon of the 12th of November, Ho Chi Minh School of Education held a meeting to take over the project of the Ministry of Science and Technology under the title "Self-defeating phenomena of junior high schools (secondary school students) and preventive measures" to PGS. Dr. Huinh Van Son, vice-rector of Ho Chi Minh City University Pedagogy.
Assoc.Prof.Dr Huinh Van Son's research "The phenomenon of self-destructiveness of young high school students (young high school students) and preventive measures"
According to Asoc. Dr. Huinh Van Son, there is currently a higher degree of school psychological disorders, Vietnamese students are confronted with many psychological difficulties. Thus, children of puberty have self-esteem self-help that becomes worthy of thought. This study finds the reason for finding ways to prevent this phenomenon.
Self-esteem behavior includes self-esteem, pessimistic thinking about life, self-neglect, depressive feeling with specific signs of physical and clinical Sometimes the subject does not recognize it.
The manifestation of this phenomenon is focused on behaviors such as neglect of health, life itself, defending protection (no helmet, life jacket …); self-indulgence, hair, carved on the skin, self-indulgence, self-determination; In silence, do not express your feelings. Even more suicide attempts begin suicide.
The research team also conducted a survey of 1,043 pupils in 7 lower secondary schools in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong. The results of the study of the state of behavior showed that 643 students (61.6%) had self-help, showing their lack of responsibility. In addition, 401 people have "pessimistic thinking about life", which represents the second highest percentage (38.4%). Up to 149 students admitted that they "hurt themselves", making up 31.6%.
Out of 1,043 pupils, the team examined 280 students who performed self-destructive behavior.
In particular, self-destructive signs on the body have alarming numbers at many and at many levels, such as hair loss of 18.2%; The bites themselves were 18.2%. It is terrible that self-financing behavior and self-confident behavior represent more than 35% on two levels and many. Interference in something also makes up almost 20%.
"We had a detailed study of a student who has the habit of hitting his head against the wall whenever something is wrong with his parents and teachers. Touching his head with his hands, the traces are clearly visible, although he is covered over time, also has been severely hampered by" Assoc. Dr. Huinh Van Son said.
"On a difficult level there is one and very difficult one and two students. However, given the total number of 280 children, the ratio of almost 1% is still alarming," said Sin.
Assoc.Prof.Dr Huinh Van Son also said that more problematic students in psychology, easier self-destructive behavior, which is easy to see in students of the sixth grade, first grade, and grade 9 is the final grade Preparation for exams. However, this is not because of pressure from others to have self-destructive behavior, but in many cases they expect too much of themselves. Some children are attacked by their friends, forced or imitated emotions.
Obviously, statistics show that subjects who show signs of self-destructive tendencies focus on good, average and good students. In particular, among them there are 99 excellent students, 110 good students, 51 average students. Similarly, the percentage of students with good behavior and a relative majority, while the percentage of students with average behavior, weak and minor, is almost negligible.
The research team also suggested some preventive measures, including raising awareness of self-destructive behavior among high school students, teachers and, in particular, school counselors. In addition, they organize integrated seminars for skills skills to develop the ability to deal with this behavior for students. At the same time, building a knowledge-based system and exercises that pupils teach "self-destruct" to regulate psychological states and deal with this behavior.
